Meet up with Rooster in ID

The Burros finally made it to Sun Valley, ID after a night camping in Green River, NM and again in Durango, CO.  We finally out ran the storms in NM and had great, albeit chilly weather in Colorado the morning we rode the Million Dollar Hwy from Durango, CO to Ouray, CO.  What a beautiful ride.

Still on the road

Well.. Been a few days since our updates.. We have done a lot.. We did ride the million dollar highway and the sawtooth pass and the bear tooth pass.. We made it to out furthest most point in Kalispel, Montana and have started our trek South.. Great times and great scenery!!! Today headed back through Yellowstone to see old faithful and some more great scenery!!! Think we have logged about 2500 miles so far.. Good times!

Day 4: Aka – First Night Camping Last Night

Good morning from Durango CO.  We have ridden over 1000 miles since our delayed departure on Sunday.  Sorry for the delay in updating. Been a wee bit tired.  So Monday morning we left Wichita Fall early and made it to Santa Fe with just a few brief showers.  West Texas highways to Amarillo are boring.
After a gas and food stop in Amarillo, as well as the obligatory Harley dealership stop we crossed the border into New Mexico.  For some reason I don’t feel like I have made any progress until I am out of the state.   The roads in NM are great.  The scenery while still boring at least began to show some signs of becoming interesting.  There was one stretch of highway between Santa Rosa and Santa Fe that I swear was perfectly straight for 30 miles.  I suffered one small issue when the left highway peg came loose.  An Allen wrench on the side of an exit soon fixed that and we arrived in Santa Fe without further incident.

Tuesday morning I got up early and opened up the outer fairing to install a new satellite radio antenna. ( I was having issues getting reception when heading west ). With that done we swung by the Santa Fe HD dealership ( awesome place ) before leaving for Colorado.

We took a indirect route to ride highway 4 near Los Alamos and through the parks to Cuba, NM.  What a great decision that was.  A beautiful ride.  Had a fuse blow which killed my lights but that was fixed while Reverend took pictures of Valle Grande.

A quick stop in Cuba and we were back on 550 North.  The fuse blew again so we headed for Four Corners HD.  They were no help so I dug into the bike again.  With fuse fixed and hopefully issue addressed, we rode to Durango, CO where we pitched our tents and had a much needed beer and cigar.

Tomorrow we ride the MillionMo

Dollar Highway then on to Utah.

On the Road early!

The only thing we like more than sleep is to not have to ride in the rain. Early start this morning to try to run through an opening in the storms.

Rain delay caused a slow start to the trip .

The Burros have at arrived safely and dry after a long day of riding after getting a very late start.  We rode up to Plano, saw the storm front and cut over to 75 on 121 then up to Durant, OK then cut back across to Ardmore, OK then onto Wichita Falls where we are grabbing a pizza and some beer.  A bit behind schedule but we hope to make it up tomorrow.

Just who are these “Bad Burros”?

The Bad Burros are a group of folks that share a passion for riding and for giving back to their community.  We are not a MC, rather, as our Patch states, ” Just A Bunch Of Asses That Love To Ride”.  We are not making fun of anyone but ourselves.  That being said if you are offended by us… that is too bad! ;-)

Our current membership includes Marcus-AKA Rooster, Tommy – AKA Batman

Marcus & Tommy

and Robert – AKA Superman and Wade AKA-Lefty
